Kathy Shanklin, as Director of Music, is responsible for the Adult Choir and all the music used during the worship service. She has a varied background in Christian church music having held previous positions with Methodist, Presbyterian and Christian Scientist churches. In addition to her responsibilities here at St. Martin’s, she serves as an accompanist at Temple Beth-El in Hillsborough.

Kathy was raised in Bushnell, IL (west-central IL) and received her Bachelor’s from Western Illinois University as well as a Bachelor’s in Organ Performance from Indiana University-Purdue in Ft. Wayne, IN. She has taken classes and had recitals towards a Master’s in Accompanying and Coaching from Westminster Choir College in Princeton.

Kathy has been at St. Martin’s since 1989. She loves to travel to Africa and has been there several times. Ask her about her trips to Ghana and Rwanda…fascinating!
